Hi, I've had a couple off days of work and took my first tentative steps in opening a web store. It's early days and there's not much in it other than the 28mm  fabric condottieri flags at the moment. However I plan to place the Italian Wars and the 15mm flags on there in the next couple of weeks. If the shop proves successful I'll have a go at designing a decent logo and a more individual website rather than a free template from the internet. Several years ago I decided to paint a Venetian army using Front Rank figures however I wanted to make the pike  look more Italian  so I had a go at sculpting my own. I'd forgotten all about these until James Roach placed pictures of a unit that I'd given him at the time up on his blog . I've got to admit I didn't find my experience of sculpting very rewarding and my hat goes off to anyone who has the skills and the patience to produce wargames figures; I'm just too cack handed. More Neapolitan, Aragonese Flags; the first one is the flag of  Sicilly and the other two are  taken from a picture depicting Neapolitan troops besieging  Piombino  in 1448; the painting was probably completed in the 1480's. I've no idea who the central flag represents however it looks the part, cheers ~Pete

Revised Borgia flag no 5, still not the best picture but I'm happy with this flag in the flesh; there's also a cavalry version of this flag, cheers Pete 

Borgia flag number 5, this is a pretty crappy picture so will try and put  a better one up in a day or so. I've now completed 7 Borgia flags in total so will get back to completing the Milanese flags for the battle of Anghiari, cheers Pete  

3rd and 4th Borgia flags; the infantry flag represents Cesare's coat of  arms following his marriage to Charlotte d'Albret. The cavalry flag  represents the flag of le seigneur Jean de Sante Colombe one of Cesare's lieutenants  the horseman and and their banners wore the colours red and yellow in honour of Louis XII and on the chests of the riders was wrote CESAR and CAESAR. Thanks to Massimo Predonzani for  his support in completing this flag, cheers Pete 

2nd Borgia Flag, this flag is based on a coat of arms in a book I bought in 

Rome on holiday about 10 years ago. The flag depicts Cesare as Duke Valentinois the same coat of arms are depicted on a convent in Imola and somewhere else that I can't remember at the minute. I toyed with the idea of having the field of the flag red however the original arms shows red cords so went with an off white.

The command base for Sigismondo Malatesta  is almost finished ; will hopefully get the base finished of during the week and take some some decent pictures.  Figures are Perry metal and plastic with a Mirliton horse for Sigismondo. Standard of Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta around 1460 

Malatesta standard from the Hesperis manuscript depicting the seige of Piombino. Thanks once again to Massimo Predonzani and Carl de Roo for their help in producing these flags.

15mm version of the flag of Sigismondo Malatesta, the picture  leaves alot to be desired  however the light was poor when I took the pic. Fogure is Mirliton and the flags is 18mm in the hoist.

This book by Massimo Predonzani is an excellent source of information on 15th century Italian  armies including flags, heraldry etc. Unfortunately I can't read Italian however I've been very lucky to have been helped by Mr. Carl de Roo and Massimo himself . With the help they have given me I should have a flag sheet for the leaguest commanders completed in the next couple of weeks followed by the Milanese forces. 2nd Colleoni Flag

Not the Italian Wars but close enough, here's my representation of  Sir Thomas Neville of Thornton Bridge; Front Rank WOR figures . These figures have been painted and lying in the draw for a couple 4 years so I thought I'd base them, add the flag  and put them on ebay to help fund my Italian Wars armies. The flag is hand painted and it's the first time in ages that I've painted a flag that small in along time and i'm quite chuffed with it.

Figures with Gothic style pointy shoes from the Triumph of Maximillian . The first printed version of this was produced in 1526 however as far as I can make out the plates were produced sometime between 1512 to 1519 however someone might be able to shed more light on this.
